Skin Booster
What is it?
Skin boosters falls under the filler umbrella. It is a clear injectable solution made of a high and low concentration Hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the skin but declines with age. It promotes skin hydration and collagen formation. It has a unique formulation, its consistency is such that allows it to evenly spread through the skin tissues and underlying structures forming a hydrating layer as well as stimulating cell production including collagen and elastin.
What areas of the face are treated?
It is used to treat skin laxity and to help remodel ageing, sagging and crepey skin. Areas treated are face, neck, decolletage and hands. It hydrates the skin and is shown to have a stimulatory effect on the cells producing collagen and elastin to help tighten and lift the skin and improve skin quality to give it a more youthful look.
Treatment Details
Pre Treatment
• Ensure you are well on the day of treatment.
• Cleanse face as normal and if possible wear minimal makeup to appointment.
• Do not have any skin treatment that may break the surface of the skin for 7 days prior to treatment.
• Do not have international travel planned for the next 5-7 days.
• Do not have any dental treatment planned for the next 4 weeks.
• Avoid Consuming alcohol 24-72 hours.
• Allow 2 weeks pre or post a vaccination due to immune response.
• Caution if you suffer from cold sores, consider taking prophylactic cold sore treatment 2-3 days beforehand.
Post Treatment
You may experience mild redness, swelling and bruising to the area, swelling will settle after 2-5 days, bruising allow up to 7-10 days. In the treated area you may experience lumps, which are normal it can take up to 4-6 weeks for the product to integrate into the surrounding skin tissue.
• No pressure on the face and skin treatments for 4 weeks.
• Do not have international travel planned for the next 5-7 days.
• Do not have any dental treatment planned for the next 4 weeks.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, hot spas/saunas, excessive alcohol consumption.
• Active skin care e.g – products containing containing retinol, vitamin C, AHA/BHAs.
Results
Skin boosters integrate into the tissue and restores the level of hyaluronic acid naturally found in the skin. The recommendation is 2-3 treatments 4 weeks apart. Maximum results are seen 4 weeks after the second treatment. The treatment can last for 6 to 9-months, however, this may vary and depends on your skin type and age. You may require a top up of treatment at this time to maintain the results.
